Engineering & Computer Science Test Pattern for GIK Undergraduate Admissions

Test for Engineering & Computer Science will consist of total 80 MCQ’s from Mathematics, Physics and English. GIK University test is very competitive and less number of seats are available in undergraduate programs, so students should prepare well to get good marks in GIK entry test in order to secure admission. Students appearing for Engineering and Computer Science must note that GIKI entry test also have negative marking so while attempting questions keep in mind that losing marks in test make your chances less for securing admission. GIKI Engineering & Computer Science will consist of two parts (Part A and Part B).

Total No of Questions: 100

Time Allowed: 120 minutes

Details for Part A

  • Part A will consist of 60 MCQ’s from Physics and Mathematics
  • Time allowed to complete this part is 90 minutes
  • Part A also have negative marking. Each correct answer will add (+3) marks and each wrong answer will deduct (-1) marks from total, un-attempted question from part A will marks as (0)

Details for Part B

  • Time allowed to part B is 30 minutes
  • This part have no negative marking. Each correct answer will add (+1) marks in total however ever wrong answer and unanswered questions will mark as (0)

Test Pattern

Physics: 30 MCQ’s

Maths: 30 MCQ’s

English: 20 MCQ’s

Example for How to Calculate Entry Test Marks

Total Number of Questions: 80

Each Question Marks in Part A: +3

Each Question Marks in Part B: +1

Total Marks of Entry Test: 200 (60 x 3 = 180) Part A + (20 x 1= 20) Part B = 200 Total

For example, if:

No of Questions Attempted in Part A: 52

Correct Answers of Part A: 48

No of Questions Attempted in Part B: 20

Correct Answers of Part B: 18

Then:

Total Marks of Part A: Correct Answers of Part A x 3 = 48 x 3 = 144 marks in Part A

Total Marks of Part B: Correct Answers of Part B x 1 = 18 x 1 = 18 marks in Part B

Total Entry Test Marks: Total Marks of Part A + Total Marks of Part B = 144 + 18 = 162

Management Science Test Pattern for GIK Undergraduate Admissions

How GIKI Calculate Merit List for Undergraduate Admissions

GIKI University give major importance to its entry test while calculating merit list for undergraduate admissions. Each year thousands of students appear in GIK University entry test for limited number of seats, which makes competition so high and only those students can get admission who have good conceptual knowledge of subjects. Negative marking in GIKI entry test will effect students merit position, so students need to careful while attempting entry test questions.

GIKI Entry Test Marks: 85%

HSSC-Part I: 10%

Matric: 5%

O/A Level: 15%

DAE/High School Diploma: 15%

Example for How to Calculate Merit List

Entry Test Aggregate: ( Marks obtianed in Entey test)/(Total Entry Test Marks ) x 85
HSSC Aggregate: ( Marks obtianed in FSC)/(Total FSC Marks ) x 10
Matric Aggregate: ( Marks obtianed in Matric)/(Total Matric Marks) x 5
Merit List = Entry Test Aggregate + HSSC Aggregate + Matric Aggregate
Now put values in above formula;
Entry Test Aggregate: ( 165)/(200 ) x 85 = 70.125
HSSC Marks: ( 980)/(1100 ) x 10 = 8.9090
Matric Marks: ( 900)/1050 x 5 = 4.2857

Merit List = 70.125 + 8.9090 + 4.2875 = 83.3197
